my entry to August 2010 Death Slam(external link). made over a weekend from scratch. inspired and influenced by and based on the movie Hellraiser.
another one i did for OMC(external link). the task this time was to make up a TV show, and to compose the theme for that show.

i've been sitting on this song for about two months now, so i just decided to release it. as you can hear, i'm certainly no pianist. i spent about 8 minutes recording the song, and probably two to three hours making it sound fluent. it's still not nearly perfect, but will have to do. and it took that long only because i suck. the title isn't very original either, but it depicts the feelings i get while listening to this. and that's what matters. to me.
this song was put together relatively fast (on my scale). it isn't too epic or anything, just a nice and short piece. the "piano" thing it starts with, the bass and the lead sound are all products of FM synthesis. i used some guitar amp simulation on the lead though, and naturally some EQs and delays where appropriate. the drums (except for the "crash" thing, which i created myself) were made with the awesome free drum synth Drumatic 3(external link).
first i was going to include some speech samples in this one, but when i was done adding them i wasn't perfectly happy with how it turned out, so i left them out completely. and then i decided to make the version with speech samples available anyway.
same as above, but with speech samples that i decided to omit from the "official" mix.
it just turned out this way. there are about five different sections in this one. the fourth section, starting at around 2:13, is what i call "the chase". the atmosphere is dark (like in most of my music) throughout the song. i entered this song to Original Music Competition #6(external link) running at TheTestTube(external link). there was no particular theme this time, everyone could do whatever they wanted. the voting was tight and i got fourth place, tied with two others.
